Brahma – BT Series safety controllers for gas and oil burners

The Brahma BT flame controls are safety devices designed for 12Vac/dc or 24Vac/dc operation and based on a microcontroller for controlling gas, oil, or mixed fuel burners for non-permanent operation. These devices are equipped with a non-volatile lockout, meaning that from a lockout condition, the reset can only be activated through manual reset.
The Brahma BT flame controls are suitable for equipping burners used for heating in various applications with single and dual flame modes. The Brahma BT systems are compliant, for instance, with burners according to standards EN 746-2, EN 676, EN 525, EN 1020, EN 1319, and DIN 4788 or oil-fired systems compliant with the requirements of DIN 4794 part 2 (December 1980 edition concerning hot air generators, only in the TV = 20s and TS = 5s versions).

FEATURES:

• Compliance with the Gas Directive 2009/142/EC and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC;
• compliance with EN298:2003 (European standard for automatic control systems for gas burners) and EN230:2005 for oil versions;
• possibility of connecting remote lockout indication and reset;
• detection based on the rectifying effect of the flame (with electrode) or UV emission detection with photo-sensors types FD…/S BT or UV… for gas versions BT…G;
• for oil versions BT…O, detection of yellow flame (visible light with photo-sensors types FC… or FT…) or blue flame (ultraviolet component with photo-sensors FD…D BT or UV…;
• two independent safety contacts for controlling the fuel valve;
• electrical life of contacts at maximum declared load >250,000 operations;
• no limits on thermal capacity (timing and operating principles must be tailored to the application during device design);
• precise and repeatable setting times;
• possibility of providing information about the type of lockout and operating cycle through a multicolor light indication integrated into the device;
• multiple ignition attempts. In standard mode, lockout occurs if no flame signal is detected by the end of the safety time. Upon request, with option Ynn, it is possible to set nn cycle repetition attempts before lockout occurs.
