Pizzarelli Calcimeter
Description:
CALCIUM CARBONATE TESTERS
Used to determine the percentage of calcium carbonate in the clays used in the ceramic tile and brick industries or in other products such as limestone, marl, soils in general, sands, etc.. They generally comprises a container in which a reaction takes place between the calcium carbonate and diluted hydrochloric acid, with the formation of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is proportional to the amount of calcium carbonate contained in the sample being tested and, therefore, the determination of its volume allows the percentage of the carbonate in the sample to be established. The carbon dioxide is collected and measured in an appropriate device connected to the above-mentioned container.
