Abrasímetro Mazaud
The machine is used to test the resistance to wear of ceramic tiles according to the “Mazaud” method, as per standardCSTB Cahier 3659_V3 2010 annex 10 for U4 classification(with particular reference to exports to France). The test consists in placing a tile measuring 300×300 mm onto a special rotating plate driven by a gear motor. The upper part of the tile is scored by a stainless steel wheel with neutral gear movement. The wheel applies an overall force of 590 N on the tile. The test is performed with 22.320 revolutions (which are equal to a run of 14.000 m) at 93 rpm.At the end of the test, the glazed surface of the tile is visually inspected to check its degree of deterioration. The machine is made up of an oven-painted metal structure with levelling feet.It has an electric cabinet with programmable operator panel and opening external safety hatches with safety microswitch locks. The working chamber is internally soundproofed with sound proofing panels. It has a power socket, fitting for compressed air and for a connection pipe to the dust extraction system.
